The Capsule

The stratosphere is an extreme environment. Temperatures as low as -60°C, wind speeds of up to 200 km/h, and intense cosmic radiation place great stress on our equipment. Our STRATOcapsule was developed to provide the best possible carrier system, capture reliable footage at altitudes of up to 40,000 meters, and ensure a safe landing afterwards.

Features & Electronics

The capsule‘s interior is perfectly tailored to the requirements of the stratosphere. Its lightweight construction offers sufficient storage space for up to 4 cameras, powered by an energy supply capable of self-heating to prevent freezing. In addition, we have 3 independent GPS systems on board to enable live tracking and ensure maximum precision in determining the landing site.

Precise route planning ensures that the balloon avoids restricted airspaces, commercial flight corridors, and densely populated areas. By using advanced forecasting models and real-time wind data, we can predict the trajectory with high accuracy.

A Stratoflight is Eco-Friendly

Stratoflights offer a sustainable way to reach altitudes of up to 40,000 meters without harming the environment. Unlike rockets or airplanes, our stratospheric balloons operate emission-free, using helium for lift without additional boosters. The balloons are made from biodegradable natural rubber, and all equipment is recovered with the help of GPS tracking—ensuring no waste is left behind in nature.

The Flight Path

A high-altitude balloon ascends up to 40,000 meters into the stratosphere. The black of the universe and the curvature of the earth become visible - a magical moment. At peak altitude, the balloon bursts, and the payload returns to Earth by parachute. The total flight duration is 2.5 -3 hours, while drifting 50 - 200 km.
